As the eyes of the world turn toward Wal-Mart's backroom, before the first chant of "USA! USA! USA!" is heard, it seems like a good time to look at some of the moral gymnastics we practice in pursuit of low prices.

New York, Dublin, and even Louisville
have survived smokeless public places. When all is said and done, everyone benefits from a smoking ban.
Let's go for it.
As an ex-smoker from age 12 (didn't inhale until 13 or 14) until age 45, I feel qualified to comment on this issue. How can anyone ignore the facts of the case; that smoking, in any form, is a principal cause of cancer, emphysema, COPD, etc. I held my aunt's hand in the hospital as she died because she couldn't breathe from smoking. To those who think it will only happen to someone else, I'm reminded of the age-old philsophy, "He/She who knows not is merely ignorant. But He/She who knows not, and KNOWS that He/She KNOWS not is SIMPLY STUPID!
